Lion’s Head lies nestled between the western side of Table Mountain and Signal Hill. If you’re looking up at Table Mountain from V&A Waterfront, you’ll see the small but distinct buttress directly below and to the right of the mountain.
Table Mountain is a towering flat-topped mountain that is a prominent natural landmark overlooking the City of Cape Town in South Africa. Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and Signal Hill fall within the Table Mountain National Park which forms part of the UNESCO Cape Floral Region World Heritage Site.

Meet your hiking guide at Lion’s Head at the starting point, next to the Vida e Caffe van opposite the parking lot. Sign in, listen to a safety briefing and then it’s time to set off on a leisurely climb to the summit.
The hike to the top takes about 1&half hours, with stops along the way to enjoy the view.
After photos at the top and some time spent exploring and enjoying the views, we make our way to a quieter viewpoint for coffee/tea and biscuits. Here you’ll watch the sun rise over the City Bowl or set over the glistening Atlantic Ocean.
On the sunset hike, we make our way safely down in the dark using torches.
